By now, most students would have set for the selective school exam. What a stressful process for both parents and students.

The number of children competing for the limited places are increasing every year though the number of available places are not. In 2012, more than 13,500 students sat the entry tests for available 4,156 positions. According to an article posted in Sydney Morning Herald newspaper, nine of the 10 top-performing schools in last year’s HSC were selective government schools, and all but four places in last year’s list of 50 top NAPLAN achievers were occupied by selective school students.

The good news, sitting the test is not the only method of gaining entry.
